Pure Stock Division Rules

 

2012 PURE STOCK RULES

 

The following rules are set to provide for the orderly conduct of all racing programs at Lorain County Speedway. They are intended as a guideline and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to its participants. Anything not covered should be checked with officials before proceeding. Rules may be changed at any time for the good of the sport of racing. Any interpretation or deviation of the rules will be left to the decision of the officials, whose decision is FINAL. 

BODY
1. This division is limited to American made cars from 1965 to 1990. No Jeeps, Suburbans, convertibles or two passenger sports cars allowed. S-10 and Ranger pickups are permitted.
2. Wheelbase must be 107 inches. NO TOLERANCE!
3. Must be stock body with full floors and rear package shelf. No raised interiors. Interior must be stock type. NO late model style. Passenger floor may be raised up to hump for exhaust.
4. Doors must be welded shut. Stock roof height. NO CHOPPED ROOFS.
5. Aftermarket nose and tail allowed. 5 Star body panels and roof are allowed. No spoilers.
6. All of the interior must be removed.
7. Bumpers must be securely fastened.
8. Windshield can be glass or lexan. All other glass must be removed. Must have car number and the letters PS on UPPER PASSENGER CORNER.
9. Rub rails are permitted. 1 in x 2 in diameter. No other bars outside of body allowed.
10. Hood and deck lid may be gutted.
11. Fuel cell or tank must have 4 straps.
12. Must have hood pins front and rear.
13. Must have tow hooks front and rear.
14. Battery may be inside but must be in marine type box.

CHASSIS
1. All suspension parts must be stock. All A-frames are to be stock and in stock location. All parts must be stock for frame being used. Aftermarket A-frame with part # UBM14-0809-5R or UBM14-0829-6L are also permitted.>2. Front upper and lower A frame bushings must be stock or polyurethane rear end control arms upper and lower must be stock or polyurethane bushings.
2.Stock shocks only kyb gr 2 – excel- g & gas ajust are legal must be in stock locations.
3. Must have 4 post roll cage with 3 bars in both doors. 1 ½" diameter tubing minimum and .095 wall.
4. Front and rear hoops are permitted with no suspension parts attached to hoops.
5. Ride height 6" minimum at the lowest part of frame. NO TOLERANCE!! 3400lbs 54% left side 49% rear with driver after feature.
6. Rear end must be stock for car being used. Must be in factory stock locations.
7. Frame cannot be altered for fuel pump clearance.
8. Frame must be stock up to behind the rear tires. May be 2 x 3 box tubing from there back.
9. No rear disc brakes allowed. No traction control devices of any type allowed. Brakes & rotors must be stock for car being used .

WIDTH

1. Metric frame 76” max. Full size frame 77” max. measured from outside to outside of tires.

 ENGINE
1. Gm, Ford, Mopar 360 max. flat top pistons and hydraulic cams and lifters ONLY! NO timing belts. No stroker of any kind.

2. Cam rule .450 hydraulic max lift at valve must have stock firing order, no anti pump up lifters or no Rhodes style lifters. 1.5 roller rockers or 1.5 steel stamped rockers allowed. Screw in studs and guide plates are permitted. Must use .040 head gasket .
3. Decking of block allowed piston must be below deck by .010 No MSD, SUPER COILS. HEI IGNITION ONLY. Weights must be functional.
4. Engine must line #3 spark plug with the center of the driver’s side upper ball joint.
5. No Brzezinski marine, bowtie, truck, or aftermarket intake. Factory 2 barrel cast iron intakes unmodified ONLY.
6. Holley 4412 500CFM Carburetor, out of box with 1" adapter and two return springs. GAUGE MUST FIT TOP AND BOTTOM.

Air horn must be Intact. You may be asked to swap out your carb for tracks carb if a discrepancy is present you may be subject to suspected loss of points and purse for that night.
7. No electric fuel pumps, alcohol or nitrous. RACING FUEL Or PUMP GAS are OK.
8. Factory cast iron heads UNMODIFIED NO ANGLE MILLING . NO FUELER HEADS or 202 VALVES permitted. 1.94 intake 1.60 exhaust valves. No bowtie, no vortices allowed. 1.266 max. spring diameter.

9. Absolutely no gasket matching porting or polishing of intake or heads.
10. Exhaust must exit out the back. Exhaust manifolds must be unmodified stock cast iron. NO CENTER DUMPS BRZEZINSKI manifolds. 2" pipes max. No 2 into 1s
11. Must pass a .98 decibel reading test.
12. Stock 10 ½ inch factory clutch and pressure plate only. No aluminum pressure plate or flywheels. No double or triple disc. No 10,000 RPM clutches. NO high performance clutches. STEEL flywheels ONLY MIN WEIGHT 16 LBS WILL BE ASKED TO PULL AND WEIGHT NO MACHINING OF ANY KIND ON FLY WHEEL……..
13. Radiator must have a shroud and one gallon overflow can.
14. All cars must have air cleaners.`

TIRES
1. Goodyear 2862, 2863 8" wide 300 series only. No soaking of tires.
2. Steel racing wheels 8" only.

SAFETY
1. Must have all standard safety equipment: window net, belts, shoulder harness, helmet (Snell 98 rating), fire suits, gloves and a fire extinguisher fully charged and mounted within arms reach.

 RADIOS

1. No two-way radios or mirrors. A one-way receiving scanner locked to frequency 154.5700 is MANDATORY. No traction control device of any type.

ENGINE CLAIM
Engine claim will be $1000 exchange $950 for engine, $50 to the wrecker to remove both engines.
A claim does not include:
1. Flywheel
2. Clutch assembly
3. Bell housing
4. Exhaust
5. Carburetor and adapter
6. Intake
7. Starter
8. Motor mounts
9. Sending units for gauges
10. Fan and pulleys
11. Water pump and Fuel pump
12. Distributor and wires
13. Water outlet and restrictor
 

The top 3 finishers are subject to the claim. To claim an engine you must finish on the same lap as
the winner of the race. The driver claiming the engine must drive directly to the claim area and
state his/her claim to an official and have claim money with them within 3 minutes of feature
finish. Only the driver can accept or refuse a claim. Refusal of claim will forfeit all winnings and
points for the night. A second refusal will eliminate participation from the next 4 racing events.

    was wondering if the body style for this class is ABC monty carlo ss like the picture of my car in my in my profile picture will pass inspection
    let me know or we will have to make some changes with the motor and run ohio stock
